Animation
Combining illustration and animation, using Procreate for iPad and Adobe Premiere Pro. I use keyframes and draw individual positions for each character, and use backdrops which can be repeated and adjusted to create movement and variation.
Where a sunset is a visual reminder of time passing, our main character walks by a beautiful sunset looking down at her feet. The worry of a day being wasted by a lack of productivity and an abundance of procrastination, where a sunset doesn’t mean beauty, but instead another day gone by without feeling like you have done ‘enough.’
This has been created by a gradual sunset gradient moving over the course of the video, clouds and scenery moving as our main character walks with eyes watching her footsteps. The lyrics displayed at the bottom of the video is intended for the viewer to also watch the floor like our main character, instead of at the sunset itself. When the scene zooms in on her face, the intention is for the viewer to look at her downcast face, and zoom back out to hopefully view the video from another perspective: the sunset.
Inspire2Achieve offers diversity and inclusion coaching for individuals and entire teams. This video was created to promote Inspire2Achieve and show clients in training, to inspire them to find practical solutions to problems internally or externally that may arise, without dismissing the feelings of the individual. The facial expressions change throughout the video, with increasing sadness and frustration, with a dull, grey outlook. Its conclusion shows a brighter sky and happy facial expression, showing a new positive outlook to the situation.
This video was made in collaboration with Ryan Hamilton who recorded and edited the sound to the existing animation. The software used for the illustration was Procreate on an iPad Pro, and putting the images together and animation was done using Adobe Premiere Pro using keyframes.
Lessons Learned From Geese is a video made for Inspire2Achieve within their diversity and inclusion coaching for individuals and teams. This video is intended to promote teamwork, to show that each individual is valuable within each team. The geese were drawn in different positions, allowing for flexibility depending on the storyline and situation.
